Report: Race 2 Quotes, Silverstone 2006

Quotes from Silverstone

Stefano Livio - nr 27 Racing Box Dodge Viper Competition Coupe: "I have not won any races for four years, so it is great; so off course I'm really happy ! The race was good, Andrea Ceccato is very fast and very good ! At the beginning I was following several cars, and I could not see anything, and my times were not optimum, so I think about keeping my tyres."

Andrea Ceccato - nr 27 Racing Box Dodge Viper Competition Coupe: "The last lap was completely crazy, I pushed as hard as I could. I was able to adopt a good rhythm and I came back on the other Racing Box Viper. We had a little contact, but I passed him. It is great to win on my first time here. It is just fantastic, and we have to say thank you to all our team members"

Hector Lester - nr34 JMB Racing Ferrari 430 Challenge: "The last lap was a crazy lap, I was attacked by two Vipers ! The track was very difficult, with water and oil, then I lost a lot of time in the traffic… so I was just concentrated on staying on track. We are very happy with our week-end, two wouldl have been better, but first and second is just incredible. We are really motivated for the rest of the season"

Allan Simonsen - nr34 JMB Racing Ferrari 430 Challenge: "I was really flat out at the beginning. I had to push as much as possible to leave the car in good position for Hector. After this week-end we are leading the championship, so we are really satisfied. We could not be happier, we were faster under wet conditions and it is good for the rest of the season."

Luca Pirri - nr47 Damax Ascari KZ1R : " It was a good race. We had some problems at the beginning of the week end but we managed to sort it out. We are very happy to have been able to fight with the leaders. The Damax team did a great job to develop the Ascari. Today we lost time with an early pit stop, but we are happy with our position."

James Murphy - nr8 Tech 9 Porsche 997 GT3: "We did not expect the rain in that way, so our set-up was not optimum. We were better under dry conditions, so our strategy was to stay consistent. We are very happy with this result. Paul Van Splunteren did a great job."

Paul Van Splunteren - nr8 Tech 9 Porsche 997 GT3: "The Porsche is difficult in the rain, we do not have much grip, and it is a fight to keep on the good line. Even in the straight it was hard to keep hold of the car. I had a nice race, I overtook few cars, finally I was quite relaxed, and I had some fun. It is our first podium together."

Dennis Retera - nr36 S-Berg Racing Team Lamborghini Gallardo GT3: "It was a hard race, I was quite scared because the track was very slippery and I'm much more used to driving front wheel car, so it was not easy but the car was perfect."

Marcello Zani - nr23 BMS Scuderai Italia Aston Martin DBRS9 : "The car is really fast under dry conditions, but it is less competitive in the rain, and very hard to drive. I was able to fight for the podium at the beginning of the race, but I was pushed and I lost a lot of time. At the end my team mate had no more tyres. We are really expecting a dry race for the next race."

Marco Panzavuota - nr17 Team Carsport Callaway Corvette Z06 : "We had a lot of power but no grip, so the Corvette is really hard to control on such a wet track. It was really difficult. We had too many mechanical problems this week-end, we had too work very hard before the next race. We are going to be better!"
